Fossilized Memorabilia

This body of works on paper (2017-current) involves using botanical specimens (fresh, and/or dried and reconstituted) as part of the acrylic paint application method.  These abstracted landscape works evoke trace, temporality, fossils, impressions, remains, and ecology, along with petrological patterns and/or subaqueous strata.  The gradually layered botanical imprints give reflection to this same tendency of settling plant matter through the ages, and rock formations, on earth.  The sense of time from a geological perspective is considered, in contrast to the human perspective of time, with regards to how humans have drastically condensed the amount of changes to earth resources in a much shorter duration.
